After you open the door, you will find that the secret is here actually.there is a wire which is fixed on the door deadbolt, the rope is tied to the wire; and pull the hemp rope to the left, the door deadbolt is opened; also pull to the right, door bolt is closed.

In other words, people on the outside is free to control the deadbolt switch. Of course, if it is locked by the inside, door deadbolt is no effect!.
