the features of Tibetan costumes

During your Tibet tours, you’ll certainly meet lots of Tibetans wearing their traditional costumes. Usually, the Tibetan costumes are very colorful. The Tibetan robe is Tibetans' main traditional clothes. It is loose-fitting, with long sleeves and a wider-than-usual waist, and its front is opened from the right side. The Tibetan robe is made from leather among herdsmen, and woolen fabrics among farmers. The basic characteristics of Tibetan robes are: wide fronts with wide waists and buttoned on the right side; wide, long sleeves (more than 30 centimeters longer than the arm, and the lower hem stretches out about 10 centimeters over the instep, mostly edged with red or black strips or leopard skin as a form of decoration); the collar, edge of the front, cuff and the lower hem of the gown are mostly edged with fine and soft fur, pulu or colorful cloth. As for the wearing of the Tibetan costumes, the Tibetans usually wear shirts inside and wear the Tibetan robes outside. Sometimes, they may bare their right arm or both arms for the convenience of working or just because of the temperature. The Tibetan costumes are quite different from ours and I’m really curious about how we shall look like if we dress in Tibetan costumes. Well, I’m sure if you travel in Tibet, during your Lhasa tour, you will be able to dress in Tibetan costumes. It must be fun. Now, don’t hesitate, get a Tibet travel permit, China visa and a Tibet train ticket and get on the train to Tibet.
