The images on the prayer flags

People have Tibet travel always see many colorful flags hanging on the mountains or over the Mani Stones especially on the Tibetan railway . That is so called prayer flags. The birth of prayer flags comes from a kind of original sacrifice that worshiping the soul of animals. The sacrifice is very related to the symbol of image printed on flags.

The middle of the flag is a running horse which represents amazing speed. Tibetans pray that all the things in the world restricted by five natural objects will turn from opposition to harmony, from bad to good, from evil to kindness, from bad omen to auspicious omen, from doom to luck. Not only can turn them but also in a high speed.

The four beasts images on the flags in four corners shows thinkable and reasonable with interactive art. Tiger represents wood or wind lying in the forest. Lion represents earth living on the mountain, huge albatross with two horn represents fire flying in the sky that spits fire. Dragon represents water swimming in the sea with the fish-like figure. The wind anywhere means the heaven. Tibetans do not draw the forest, the high mountains, the sky, the sea directly but choose  the animals live in that environment as symbols. It seems that the images are not just show the six natural matter but take them as main points. The symbol of firing beast riding on the horse back stands for wealth can make Tibetans' happy and lucky wishes come true.
