The dreamlike Yamdrok Lake

 What do you think about the jade? Maybe it is pure and beautiful in your opinion. And maybe you will tell me you like it very much; there is a piece of jade in your neck. Well, the jade is pretty special for Chinese. They love the jade, in their blood, in their culture. And there is a mysterious lake, it is like the jade. Not only the color is similarity, but also they are sacred, pure and solemn.

It is the Yamdrok.

What is the Yamdrok? It is the lake, in other words, it is the fairyland. The lake distribution within 21 islands. So you do not have the delusion to see it integrallty. Only in the high space you can watch the full view. But you will have enjoyment with such sight what you can see. It will be satisfied you enough. With the sunshine, the lake is colorful and charming. The view is different from your travel to Everest base camp. It is more peaceful and relaxing. The water, the grasslands, the water bird…What is more, in the summer, the weather is pretty hot, you are so whiny in your hometown, so you can go board the train from Shanghai to Tibet, and then go to the Yamdrok to have some cool and refreshing air. The grass is great for the animal to eat, so you will enjoy the nice vacation with so many animals.

Also there are a lot of mountains around the lake, just as the brave guides to protect the beautiful princess. The another name of the Yamdrok is the sheep lake, also named the sacred lake. And the Noijinkangsang is under the lake, just as a little child protect by the mother. As you known about the general sight, there are a lot of people who go to the Yamdrok for fun. But the water and the view of the sheep lake do not be destroyed by the tourism. The Yamdrok know that you spend a long time about the Nepal and Tibet travel, so she wash and dress up, just for your coming.

It is said that the devout Buddhists go to a circle around the lake each year, riding need a month or so. This is equal to them a pilgrimage to Lhasa, more than your time which you spend in the travel from Lhasa to Kathmandu. And doing like this, at least "Buddha bless him this year" for prosperity. Also there is lots of legend about the Yamdrok lake. The shape of the yamdrok lake is like the eardrop. And long long ago, it is said that the water bird is the incarnation of a charming girl. So the water bird just like the girl, play and have fun in the lake.

  The Local tibetans civil sing the folk songs to praise for the Yamdrok lake "the wonderland of heaven; the Yamdrok in the ground; the stars of the heaven; the cattle and sheep of the lake”.
