The famous Qing Po

The Qing Po located in the northeast of the Samye temple. The “Qing” means the Qing family of there; the “Po” means the upper of the ravine. The mountain is with the slope and there is the Yarlung Zangbo River around the mountain. And there is the lush growth of trees and glass, the murmuring of running water, the various birds and the charming flowers. It just is like another holy land of the Tibet. Also it is different to the holy land—Namtso which is always charming;

However the famous of the Qing Po is not only the special nature but also the famous flagellants. Because the Padmasambhava, the Trisong Detsen and other famous history figures pray in the Qing Po, also the environment is quit and secluded; there is no severe cold and intense summer, but it is always warm in the years. Many great masters get to the Qing Po and have a long praying in there. So the Qing Po is famous as the Samye temple. The people think that if you come to have the Tibet travel from Beijing, and get to the Samye, but not get to the Qing Po, that equal to not get to the Samye. It is said that there is 108 base prayer holes, 108 celestial burials and 108 springs. Nowadays, the Qing Po has been the famous scenic spot where the payers and tourists are pretty wishful.    

The transportation of the Qing Po is convenient, but you should take a long time to get there, also you can spend ten Yuan for a round trip and take the bus which takes the local peoples to get the Qing Po. However, it will be crowed, and if you can not stand that, you can charter the bus for the travel. Although, the distance travelled is not very far, generally it will take one hour to get there. And it is less than the time which you spend in the Qinghai and Tibet railway. You will feel the fresh air and the special smell of the Tibet in the travel; the flower, the grass, the river and the cloud is like the etiquette team to wait for you in the nature. It is said by the Tibetans that if you can see the rabbits in road of the mountain, there is the good luck will come. Surely, you can hike to the Qing Po; it will take you three to four hours.

 Well, with the development of the Qing Po, and there is more and more tourists who come to the Qing Po. Now, there is a small rest house in the hillside, but the bed is less. Surely, you can pitch a tent for a night. What is more, there is a retail department; you can buy some necessary things in there, such as the tin, the biscuit and the instant noodles. And remember there is no restaurant in the mountain; you should solve the meal easily. But if you do not take the tent, you must get down the mountain and get to the service center to have a rest. The price is cheap and the environment is comfortable.

After you arrive at the Qing Po, you will witness some payer in the hole. The door is about one meter, and if you want to get in it, you must stoop to avoid knock down the stone. The hole is very small, and there are small jar, the butter light, the book, the picture of the master, some medicine and the bowl and chopstick. You will be moved by the Buddhist monks and nuns; they can find the happiness and supporting of their life. And there is no devout belief but can not do that.

If the mysterious Tibetan Buddhism makes the people’s heart which is full of the belief, so the Qing Po is the bright pearl of the belief. There is some flagellants pray in the Qing Po; the scale of it amount to a small village, The Tibetans regard it as the holy land. For the most of the tourists, the Qing Po is a far dream in their heart.
