The first batch of woodblocks used by the Sera Monastery's sutra-printing house was sponsored by the "Snow Sutra-Printing House", the publishing institution founded nearby the Potala Palace by the 13th Dalai Lama.Staffs in the Sera Monastery's sutra-printing house referred to the sponsored woodblocks, produced new woodblock models and have printed 18 collections of Tibetan Buddhist canons so far.
Supported by local Culture Bureau and authorities, the Sera Monastery's sutra-printing house has sorted out and printed a series of works written by Tibetan Buddhist masters, most of which are used as textbooks for monks.
